NOW HIRING: Director of NDE Services
Trenergy is a 100 percent locally owned Company based in St. Catharines, Ontario, specializing in the manufacture of boilers, pressure vessels, rail tank cars and more. NDE Director shall hold responsibility for the overall performance of the department including internal programs, sister companies and outside customer requirements, along with the sales and branding of our company for future growth.
We are looking for a confident, goal-oriented and motivated candidate with comprehensive industry knowledge with hands-on experience to lead a team of NDT technicians in the delivery of high-quality NDT/Visual work.
Principal responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Have a solid understanding of the metal fabrication industry and bring an extensive list of current customer relationships.
- Work with the NDE department to NDT specific goals/objectives that align with the strategic and operational direction of the company.
- Assist in the successful execution of all required audits
- Update client information in the company contact database.
- Develop new prospects and interact with existing customers to expand the sales base.
- Support and guide the NDE Manager and team to reinforce the maintenance of an orderly and safe NDE facility.
- Coach and mentor NDE manager to aid in the assignment of tasks and duties to the NDE work force effectively and efficiently in accordance with the schedules and priorities of the shop
- Respond to customer information requests; collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure a timely and accurate response.
- 7+ years’ experience in determining and setting competitive service contracts and rates to stay competitive within Ontario.
- Management of operational and capital budgets.
The ideal candidate will possess the following competencies:
- Result-Driven Time Management – must be able to self-prioritize and manage under the pressures of a service delivery business. Must be driven to spend time in the field with customers and their team when needed
- Supportive and Accountable Coach and Mentor- must possess excellent employee relations skills and be able to manage a diverse workforce, coach team members, and understand the dynamics of effective listening and responsiveness to inquiries and requests.
- Highly Organized- must demonstrate consistent engagement in planning, scheduling and adeptly managing fluctuations in the workforce.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree /College diploma in Engineering or Business.
- Minimum of 5- 7 years in the steel fabricating industry managing a team with KPI successful results.
- Proven experience in all aspects of audits within the industry relating to NDE and QA/QC
- Extensive experience and knowledge in relationship to ASME/NBIC to support the industry’s auditing processes in ensuring quantitative successful results.
- Over 5 years of progressive experience in the application /process of quotations on subcontracting NDE work
- Valid certification in multiple NDT and Visual methods would be an asset.

- 8-hour shift, 40 hours per week
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
